Tips
- ·30 minutes by JR rapid from Sapporo (¥750). 10-minute walk from Otaru Station to the canal.
- ·Asakusa Bridge is the prime photo spot—the semicircular bridge, canal, and warehouses compose perfectly in one frame.
- ·Gas lamps light 20–30 minutes after sunset. The sweet spot is just before full darkness.
