Phu Quoc pulls off something rare: honeymoon luxury and real value at the same time. Visa-free 30 days, 5-star resorts from $239, the world's longest cable car. Five days is exactly enough — not rushed, not too long.

Direct flights from Seoul land here in 5 hours 40 minutes (Jin Air, Jeju Air, T'way Air, VietJet — up to 56 flights weekly). Low season return fares from around $200. You're on this beach for sunset on the same day you leave Korea.
Why 5 days?
Phu Quoc is big — about half the size of Jeju Island. One day isn't enough, seven days is too many. Five nights hits the sweet spot:
- Day 1: Arrival, settle in, Long Beach sunset
- Day 2: Sao Beach + South Island snorkeling (full south-island day)
- Day 3: World's longest cable car + Hon Thom Island
- Day 4: Grand World night lights + Night Market
- Day 5: Slow morning checkout, fly home
Before you go — Visa, eSIM, apps
- Visa: 30-day visa-free entry (Phu Quoc special exemption for all nationalities). No application or e-gate registration needed — passport only.
- eSIM: 5GB/5 days ~$9 (Airalo). Set it up before departure so you're connected the moment you land.
- Grab: Vietnam's Grab (like Uber) is essential. Pre-install before your trip. Avoids taxi fare negotiation entirely.
Airport to resort — exact numbers
Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) is centrally located, so all major resort areas are 15–35 minutes away.
| Destination | Transport | Time | Fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long Beach / Duong Dong | Grab / taxi | ~15–20 min | 120,000–180,000 VND (~$5–7) |
| Grand World / JW Marriott area | Grab / taxi | ~25–35 min | 180,000–250,000 VND (~$7–10) |
| Sao Beach area resorts | Grab / taxi | ~30–40 min | 200,000–280,000 VND (~$8–11) |
Grab tip: Use the designated Grab pickup zone outside the terminal. 10–20% cheaper than metered taxis, fixed fare shown in-app. If you don't have Grab, Vinasun is the reliable metered taxi alternative.

The view from inside the cable car cabin: scattered islands in jade-green water, fishing boats far below, 35 minutes that go too fast.

Phu Quoc resorts fall into two zones: Long Beach (northwest, easier city access) and Khem Beach (south, quieter, more exclusive).

One full resort day — pool, book, cocktail, late lunch — should be built into the itinerary. It's not laziness; it's the honeymoon.
Khem Beach, designed by Bill Bensley, reimagined from a 19th-century French university. From $239/night. Private pool villa options (1BR, 3BR, 7BR). Breakfast-included packages recommended. Marriott Bonvoy points eligible.
Long Beach central location, directly facing the South China Sea sunset. Infinity pool with sunset is the standout. From ~$180/night. 10-min drive to Duong Dong town.
Snorkeling — underwater is the main event

Hon Thom snorkeling spots have 10m+ visibility on clear days. The water is shallow enough to stand, clear enough to see the coral and fish without even diving under. For a first-time snorkeler, this is the ideal introduction.
