Dazaifu Tenmangu — Shrine of the God of Learning

Founded 905, one of Japan's three major learning shrines dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane. In May 2026, its main hall completed a 3-year renovation. Over 8 million visit annually; the 30+ plum cake shops along the approach path sell them at ¥150 each.
