We spent one day of our Osaka trip at Universal Studios Japan. For the two of us, the Studio Passes cost KRW 194,880 and Express Pass 8 cost KRW 499,396, a combined KRW 694,276. It was a substantial expense, but we used every included attraction and were very satisfied. We rode The Flying Dinosaur three times in total that day.

Our visit was Sunday, October 4, 2026. USJ prices and Express Pass lineups can vary with the date and product, so this account describes the passes we bought and what we actually did.

At the entrance before 8 a.m.

[The USJ entrance at 7:54 a.m.]

Our entrance photograph was taken at 7:54 a.m. People were walking toward the gates under the 25th-anniversary decorations. After the previous day's bus trip to Nara and Kyoto, this day was set aside for the park's rides. The photograph records when we were outside, rather than the exact time we finished entering.

The pass we bought and the eight rides we used

We booked through Klook. Our product was Universal Express Pass 8: Mine Cart & The Flying Dinosaur Special, shown as the Tramcar & Flying Dinosaur Special on the Korean booking. The 1-Day Studio Pass was a separate purchase for admission. Our voucher explicitly stated that a separate Studio Pass was required to enter the park.

The eight attractions included two choice groups. Our actual selections were:

Area or choiceAttractions used
Super Nintendo WorldMario Kart: Koopa's Challenge; Yoshi's Adventure; Mine Cart Madness
The Wizarding World of Harry PotterHarry Potter and the Forbidden Journey; Flight of the Hippogriff
MinionsIllumination's Villain-Con Minion Blast
Choice AThe Flying Dinosaur
Choice BJurassic Park: The Ride

The voucher also specified an entry time for Super Nintendo World. Check both area-entry and attraction times on your own booking. This was our purchased lineup; another pass with a similar name may offer a different combination.

The Flying Dinosaur, three times in total

We used every attraction included in the pass, from Mario Kart, Donkey Kong's Mine Cart Madness and Yoshi to the Harry Potter rides, Minion Blast and Jurassic Park. The Flying Dinosaur's total for the day was three rides.

Three is our actual ride count, not a claim that one Express Pass includes three priority entries to that attraction. Choice A on our voucher offered The Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream: The Ride or Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, with one selection from that group.

We were very happy with the visit after spending KRW 499,396 on Express Passes for two. Exact queue times are not available in this account; we did use every attraction in the package.

A photograph of Hogwarts Castle

[Hogwarts Castle in the afternoon]

We photographed Hogwarts Castle in the Harry Potter area during the afternoon. Its tall towers and walls fill the frame. We have only a few photographs from inside the park, but the entrance and castle views sit alongside a day with many rides.

Dinner in Osaka afterwards

A sign reading 誉 and SAKE BAR
[An evening sake-bar sign]

After USJ, we spent the evening in Osaka. We photographed a 誉 / SAKE BAR sign and a table of food. Our ledger contains separate entries of ¥7,865 for a sake bar and ¥7,590 for a sushi restaurant.

Sashimi and several dishes on a dinner table
[The evening table]

The last pictures of the day show the dinner table rather than the park. A Mario souvenir purchase of ¥3,300 is also in the ledger. Those purchases are why the day cost more than the two ticket bookings alone.

Flights and accommodation are separate. This total combines the confirmed tickets with that day's ledger entries; it does not guarantee that every in-park meal or transport payment was recorded.

For anyone comparing Express Passes, the starting point is whether the rides you want are actually in the package. This combination worked well for us, and we used all eight selections. Prices here are our actual payments for two adults.
