About this guide

Our three-night Osaka budget for two: flights, hotel, Nara/Kyoto tour, USJ tickets and 18 ledger entries. The KRW 3,077,295 recorded total includes transit-card top-ups.

The two of us visited Osaka from October 2 to 5, 2026. We spent the first day in Dotonbori, the second on a Nara and Kyoto bus tour, and the third at USJ before heading home on day four.

Confirmed flight, hotel, tour and USJ ticket payments plus our Tripop ledger add up to KRW 3,077,295. That includes transit-card top-ups, so it is not a final consumption total after deducting unused balance. Here is what the figure contains.

An ordinary airport service for the return

We took Rapi:t into Osaka but used the ordinary airport service on the return day. We did not use the same train type in both directions.

We remembered the fare as roughly ¥960. While preparing this account, we checked the official Nankai fare search: on October 6, 2026, it showed ¥970 for the adult one-way ordinary fare from Namba to Kansai Airport. That is a checked reference fare, not a recovered receipt for our actual return journey.

Our outward Rapi:t tickets cost ¥3,120 for two. We have not added another ¥970 per person to the budget because we have not yet reconciled whether the return journey was paid from the transit-card top-ups already recorded.

The final day's meal entry: ¥5,400

The return-day ledger has one meal entry under 日本のごちそう. The recorded items were:

Menu itemRecorded amount
Red spicy ramen¥1,600
Chashu ramen¥1,900
Takoyaki BS¥1,800
Spring-onion topping¥100
Total¥5,400

The stored KRW equivalent was KRW 46,177. The ¥5,400 includes consumption tax.

Advance payments: KRW 2,558,076

ItemScopeAmount paid
FlightsReturn tickets for two, booked in a hurryKRW 1,200,000
Four-star hotelTwo people, all three nightsKRW 570,000

USJ 1-Day Studio PassTwo adultsKRW 194,880
USJ Express Pass 8Two peopleKRW 499,396
TotalKRW 2,558,076

The flights were booked hurriedly and cost KRW 1.2 million for two return tickets. The four-star hotel was KRW 570,000 for all three nights, not per night. These are our actual booking conditions and payments, rather than a general Osaka market-price estimate.

The USJ tickets together cost KRW 694,276. They were a large part of the budget, but we used every attraction in the pass, rode The Flying Dinosaur three times in total, and were very satisfied.

Eighteen on-trip entries: KRW 519,219

DateMain entriesJPY totalStored KRW equivalents

October 5Meal¥5,400KRW 46,177
Total18 entries¥60,633KRW 519,219

The KRW column sums the value saved with each expense. It is not the result of applying one exchange rate to all the yen spending, and it may differ from final card-statement charges.

Food, including convenience stores, groceries and drinks, accounts for ¥45,213 in these entries, with stored KRW equivalents of KRW 386,762. That includes Ichiran, takoyaki, eel rice, gyukatsu and the evening sake-bar and sushi entries.

What the KRW 3,077,295 total means

KRW 2,558,076 in advance payments + KRW 519,219 in on-trip records = KRW 3,077,295.

The on-trip records include ¥6,000 loaded onto transit cards. To separate actual use from leftover credit, we would need to reconcile the card history. We have also not completed a check for any unrecorded connectivity, insurance, accommodation-tax or other separate payments.

This is therefore the total of the payments and entries currently confirmed. To compare another trip fairly, consider the flight-booking timing, hotel category, bus tour and Express Pass inclusion, as well as the headline amount.

The experiences behind the numbers

We went straight into Ichiran and were very satisfied with the meal. At Acchichi Honpo, the soft, squishy takoyaki texture differed from what we had eaten in Korea. On day two we visited Nara and Kyoto, and on day three we used all the attractions in our USJ pass.

Each day had a different focus: arriving in Osaka, traveling through Nara and Kyoto, spending a day at USJ, and heading back to the airport. Keeping the account in four parts lets the photos and spending stay with the day they belong to.

This budget was checked on October 6, 2026 against the traveler's payment details and Tripop records. Historical trip spending and the separately checked reference train fare are identified accordingly.
