Is there something I must file online before arriving in Vietnam?
Yes. The pre-arrival declaration (PAI) started at Ho Chi Minh City on 15 April 2026 and has been rolling out by airport; as of June 2026 it is mandatory at five international airports including Da Nang, alongside Hanoi, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc. Everyone without a Vietnamese passport must file, and being visa-exempt does not excuse you. Submit within 72 hours of arrival at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn with your passport and flight details; the system issues a QR code you must show at immigration, saved on your phone or printed. Because the rollout is still expanding, re-check against your own arrival airport before you fly.
Do I need a visa for Da Nang?
Korean passports get 45 days visa-free; several European nationalities get 45 days as well, and others differ, so check your own. For longer stays, apply for an e-visa at evisa.gov.vn in advance — around USD 25, valid up to 90 days. Visa exemption does not remove the PAI requirement above; those are separate.
